The GFS is showing a potential for a cold core setup on Monday Nov 27th. A tight 989Mb surface low is progged to be on the CO/KS border under a broad upper level trough over the four corners area. The SPC's 4-8 day outlook is also calling for severe weather starting this day and the next. I may have to extend my Thanksgiving break by a day and be in place to chase this event as a last chance at severe in 2006!This comes exactly one year to the date that Darin Brunin, Dick McGowan and Scott Currens caught cold core tornadoes in central KS.
