TWISTEX plane complete

This morning I finished the drop mechanism on the TWISTEX plane we will be using for launching the dronsonde into severe thunderstorm updrafts this spring. This plane will climb to 400 feet in a severe thunderstorm updraft and then with the flick of a switch it will release its payload which will pull a parachute and allow it to continue on up into the thunderstorm where it will radio back gps location, temp and pressure. stay tuned as we take this plane out in the coming weeks with Tim Samara's TWISTEX project with the NGC!
